Anri MORIMOTO

Anri Morimoto, Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at International Christian University, is now Vice President for Academic Affairs. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary (1991). His publication in English includes Jonathan Edwards and the Catholic Vision of Salvation (Penn State University Press, 1995); “The End for Which God Created Jonathan Edwards,” in Don Schweitzer, ed., Jonathan Edwards as Contemporary: Essays in Honor of Sang Hyun Lee (Peter Lang, 2010); and “An Edwardsian Lost and Found: The Legacy of Jonathan Edwards in Asia” in Oliver D. Crisp and Douglas A. Sweeney, eds., After Jonathan Edwards: The Course of New England Theology (Oxford University Press, 2012). Most recently, he wrote a review article “A Definite and Comprehensive Commentary on Edwards’s Theology,” on Michael J. McClymond and Gerald R. McDermott, The Theology of Jonathan Edwards (Oxford University Press, 2012), in Evangelical Studies Bulletin (Wheaton College), Issue 83 (Fall 2012).

Naoki ONISHI

Naoki Onishi is Professor of American Literature, and Coordinator of American Studies, in the Division of Arts and Sciences at International Christian University. Graduating from International Christian University and Amherst College, he received his MA, and Ph.D. degrees from ICU, where he started teaching and continue by now. He is a founding member of Japanese Association of Early Americanists, and served as President for many years. His works include books on Plymouth Plantation, and religion and society of early New England. Currently he is involved with a project focusing on the issues of separation of church and state in the United States and Japan. He is President of Emily Dickinson Society of Japan.

Shitsuyo MASUI

Shitsuyo Masui is Professor of Early American Literature and Intellectual History, Department of English Literature, Sophia University. A graduate of Doshisha University (B.A.), Wheaton College (M.A.), University of Massachusetts, Amherst (M.A.) and Boston University. She holds a PhD degree in American Studies from Boston University. She has taught Shikoku Christian College and Tokyo Christian University before moving to Sophia. She published books and articles on Puritanism and American literature, and also translated several books on American Studies into Japanese. Her current research projects include “The Transatlantic Calvinist Diaspora and its Relation to the New England Puritan Culture” and “US and the Atlantic World.” She currently serves as the Chair of the Japanese Association of Early Americanists.

Bruce W. DAVIDSON

Bruce W. Davidson is a professor at Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan, where he has been teaching since 1995. Before that he taught at Osaka Jogakuin College. His research interests include theology, critical thinking, and education. His recent publications about Jonathan Edwards include “Narcissism: The Root of All Hypocrisy in the Theological Psychology of Jonathan Edwards” (March, 2014) in the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS), 57:1, and “Not From Ourselves: Holy Love in the Theology of Jonathan Edwards”, JETS, 59:3 (September, 2016). He contributed “How Jonathan Edwards Unmasks Religious Hypocrisy” to (Re)Presenting Magic, (Un)Doing Evil: Of Human Inner Light and Darkness (Alexandra Cheira, ed.; Inter-Disciplinary Press, 2012). He is also a contributor to the upcoming Jonathan Edwards Encyclopedia (William Eerdmans and Yale University Press).
